Chanel Mystic Eyes Quad - How I use it.

A very good friend of mine is getting married soon. Of course, I instantly started thinking about what might work well for her makeup (and dress, and shoes, and jewelry... ok, I know it's not MY wedding). Given that Chanel put together such a wonderful collection for spring, I decided to put together a little description of how I use the Mystic Eyes quad. And really, I think this quad is so easy it's almost fool proof. It's easily one of my best palette purchase ever.

Here's what I used:
  • As a Base - Urban Decay Primer Potion (holy grail stuff - try it if you haven't)
  • Inner 2/3 of eye - the silver shade
  • Outer 1/3 of eye - the light brown shade
  • Smoking out the corner and into the crease - the dark brown shade
  • Brow highlight - the light pink shade.
  • Eye liner - MAC Wolf Pearlglide eye pencil (easily my holy grail grey eye pencil)
  • MAC Plushlash mascara (which I really need to replace)
It took less than 5 minutes. I didn't do the best job, but it's a great quick neutral eye for work. You can certainly play up the drama with the dark brown shade and the light silver shade - they work very well to contrast against each other.

Excuse the burn on my right eye (the eye on the left). Waxing accident.

Hopefully this helps my friend. And hopefully she takes pity on me and helps me set up a good place to take pictures in my house so I don't have to stare into the morning sun again. But most importantly, I hope it can be a little inspirational to her for her wedding day as it serves as proof that you can still get a decent neutral eye done in 5 minutes in the morning.

By the way, here's how the Mystic Eye Quad looks on Blake Lively (read "when used by professional artist on someone perfect"):
