NOTD - China Glaze Flying Dragon

This Nail Of The Day is for Vanessa. She said she was surprised that Flying Dragon dried matte and so I decided to do an NOTD and verify - Yes, without a glossy top coat, Flying Dragon does indeed dry matte. Put a top coat on there and you get glossy.

The Color: Flying Dragon is some SERIOUS purple! This polish ticked me off because I don't think my camera accurately captured it. Flying Dragon is MUCH more vibrant and has more of a red tint than a blurple tint to it. The shimmer in it is pink and blue. It's just gorgeous neon purple goodness. Reminds me of ink and tattoos, surfers and skaters.

The Formula: Like I said, it dries matte. This was an odd twist to this polish I was not expecting. It dries pretty quickly too. Goes opaque in two coats. But even with Seche Vite on top, the polish still feels a bit rougher than normal glossy polishes.

The Wear: I will tell you later.

The Bottom Line: This purple is unique to my collection, not just due to the matte texture but also because of it's vibrancy. If you want a polish that is really OUT THERE, go for it. But if you're like me, you probably won't dig the texture and will rarely reach for it.

I have some important business meetings today. I hope they can handle my neon purpleness. :)
