NOTD - China Glaze Orange Marmalade

Good Morning! New Morning, new Nail of the Day!

When my ChinaGlaze Summer Days collection arrived from TransDesign I was so excited! I haven' t been this excited about a collection in a long time. I don't usually buy entire collections, but at around the same price as one Lippmann polish, how could I resist. Anyway, Orange Marmalade would not have been MY first choice to wear but we'll go with it.

The Color: This is the perfect "Dutch Orange". The shimmer borders on glitter but it's so fine it's not gaudy. I've heard that the glitter is little glass flecks. In a way, this reminds me of orange colored gum drops. The only other orange I've ever purchased is Zoya Kaufda and I swapped that away. This one is officially unique to my collection.

The Texture: It's a bit like a jelly polish with shimmer. It's not gritty with a top coat (not sure about before because I didn't intentionally touch my nail before adding the top coat). This one applied opaque in 2 coats.

The Wear: Not so great. Less than 12 hours after I applied it half of my index finger had already peeled off. Not chipped - peeled. Reminds me of those polishes that peeled off like rubber they they often market to five year olds. It might bave been a reaction with my OPI base coat but even with my usuall Seche Vita top coat it took a while to dry. This might have to do with the texture and consistency.

Bottom Line: Very fun orange to own. If you buy it from one of the discount etailers then you might as well get it along with the rest of the collection.
