Scary pants! Gilt Groups images of Converse by John Varvatos

What were they thinking???

(read no further if you're offended by really bad crotches on pants)

To Mr. John Varvatos,

I think you need to have a talk with whoever created your promo images for Gilt Group last week. Whoever it was did you a disservice. Even if I had a body that could get away with wearing skinny pants/jeans, I wouldn't purchase them based on these images. There are other brands out there that achieve the skinny pant look that are much kinder to a womans' shape. In fact, I had to talk my friend out of purchasing these pants just because it would have been cruel not to do so.

Do you really think that we would want to buy pants that look like this on the MODEL??? Pants need to at least look great on the model! I can understand if someone makes the purchase, gets home, tries them on and WHOA!!! CAMEL TOES!!! But trying to make the decision to purchase based on seeing THAT as your promo image? To quote Michael Kors from Project Runway "The crotch on those pants is insane!"

These weren't much better...

I don't know who the stylist was for this shoot but I think you should have a talk with them. Unless of course the "camel toe" look is in this season. If it is, SHAME ON YOU FOR SUPPORTING THIS!

However, I do think your dresses were quite cute. I noted this one and immediately sent an image to my very attractive tall leggy Canadian friend who absolutely needs a short black sequin dress to accentuate her fabulous self:
