A Fat Girl in "Skinny" Jeans

I lament the fact that my only full length mirror is in the basement with terrible lighting.

Yeah, this is how the jeans are supposed to look on someone:

The Gap - Deconstructed Slouchy Skinny Jeans- $69.50

I usually hate the idea of "skinny jeans" but since I've been playing around with boots I began to see the wisdom in a trend I formerly hated: wearing jeans tucked into boots.

Now boot cut jeans really don't work for this. I know - that's all I have. Or rather that's all I had before these skinny jeans. Sadly, I did not purchase this pair of jeans in a size smaller for they are still just as baggy in the legs as my boot cuts.

I know I'm not the body type for skinny jeans. But really, it would be wonderful to have a pair of tight fitting jeans, the kind that are practically leggings (without the crotch looking too crazy) but at this point I don't think I've achieved that. Once again, purchasing from the Gap at their suggested size for my measurements has resulted in baggy jeans. Ugh. Oh well. At least I now have a pair of jeans that I can wear in the garden without being worried about ripping them up (which by the way I've determined is the point of having pre ripped jeans upon purchased).

Oh well. Bad purchase I think. Should I give up until I lose about 50 lbs?
