Blue Eye Shadow Look 1: Working with MAC "Give Me Liberty of London" Birds & Berries

As fate would have it, MAC's Birds & Berries eye shadow arrived on my door the day Ms. Joeybunny brought up the strange fear of blue eye shadow. My first challenge!

I was really hesitant to show these images after I saw how horribly my lipstick wore. Yes that's MAC Viva Glam Lady Gaga lipstick - I wasn't happy with it. I think it doesn't wear well. It looked good for about the first minute, then just moved itself into all the unflattering nooks and crannies of my lips even though I layered it over MAC Prep + Prime Lip. I have to learn how to tame it though - it's my only light pink lipstick.

Breakdown

Eyes
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion
  • MAC Pigment in Your Ladyship (LE) - Layered on like crazy over the whole lid.
  • MAC Eye Shadow Birds & Berries (LE) - corner and crease
  • MAC Eye Shadow in Vex - I put this mostly right on the center of my lid trying to make it reflective.
  • MAC Fluidline in Lithograph (LE) - lined upper eyes
  • MAC Liner in Steelpoint - tried to do the lower water line.
  • MAC Plushlash Mascara in Plushblack
Face
  • MAC Prep + Prime Skin Refined Zone - This was suggested by @MAC_Keri_B on Twitter. Jury is still out on whether or not it was a worthwhile purchase.
  • MAC Studio Fix Fluid NC15
  • MAC Skinfinish Natural in Light
  • MAC Mineralize Blush in Love Thing
  • MAC Beauty Powder in Pearl Blossom (LE) - Love Love Love this beauty powder!
Lips
  • MAC Creamstick Liner in Mother Pearl - This was the lightest I had
  • MAC Lipstick in Viva Glam Gaga
  • MAC Lipglass in Pink Meringue
I wore this look to a good friend's wedding on Pi Day. Mr. Jason Maddox married the lovely Lauren Simmons at 1:59 pm that day... how cute! Take a look at their awesome cake!

I still think they should have had Pie if they were getting married on Pi but that's another story...
