Comparison: MAC Pearglide in Black Line to MAC Fluidline in Blitz & Glitz

Now I know there are probably many of you out there who don't like the idea of comparing something that is essentially a pencil form eye liner to a gel eyeliner, but I think that MAC Pearlglide eyeliners have the best of both worlds. While MAC Fluidlines allow you to use a brush to have super control over your line, the smoothness of the Pearglide makes them (in my opinion) far superior to the average liner.

I tried MAC Pearlglide in Black Line from the Art Supplies collection a few days ago and had a thought:

"Gosh this looks and behaves a lot like MAC Blitz & Glitz."

Comparison Breakdown - from my perspective of course

Black Line Pearl Glide
  • Black-Brown base with gold shimmer -more than Blitz & Glitz
  • Pencil form - easier to pack for travel
  • Probably won't dry out as fast
  • I have more control with Pencils
  • Put up with a good deal of abuse from soapy water before giving in

Blitz & Glitz Fluidline
  • A classic in the world of MAC
  • Dries out after a while
  • Requires a brush - more difficult for travel
  • Application can be tricky for people who don't do well with brushes
  • Can put up with more soapy water abuse than Black Line but not by much
For me, I think Black Line Pearlglide wins.
