Polish - Zoya Akyra

I have had this one for a while but I hadn't actually tried it. My newly discovered love of MAC Undercurrent Pearlglide brought Akyra to my attention. When I opened up the Zoya drawer of my Ikea Helmer I thought that Akyra could be the mermaid-blue-green I was looking for.

Color

Straight mermaid-blue-green metallic. No glitter. Slight shimmer. It's pretty, but it took more effort than I wanted to give to a Zoya polish (which is usually awesome).

Application

The formula is NOT AT ALL what I've come to expect from Zoya. Usually I barely need two coats. Akyra took at least three, four on some nails, to get opaque. And it is clearly a polish that isn't intended to be sheer. it's the type of application (and color really) that make me think "Drugstore polish from the '80s". So I am disenchanted by this polish!

Wear

Used Qtica Nail Growth Stimulator as base, Zoya Armor as top coat, OPI Drip Dry Drops (which I ran out of). Anyway, wear has been ok. I do have some chips after the first day, but I'm not going to fault the polish.

Bottom Line

Honestly, I'd pass (Sorry Zoya). I bet there are better mermaid-blue-green polishes out there. I just need to find them.

Don't forget!
I am giving away a bottle of OPI Have You Seen My Limo. Enter today!
