Girls Night Out at The Melting Pot #Dayton - With Estee Lauder Co-Hosting

As you may know if you live in Dayton and belong to Club Fondue, every week in July on Thursday will be "Girls Night Out" at The Melting Pot. Ladies, pick up that phone and make a reservation! I love it when the Melting Pot does these promotions because it's usually a really good deal.

About July's Girls Night Out
With Girls Night Out you get cheese fondue, salad and entree. Chocolate is not included. That always seems a little silly to me because come on - we're female. However both times I've been to a Melting Pot Girls Night Out I haven't ordered chocolate extra. Once the time comes for the chocolate course and find I don't need it. Go figure. My table of 9 agreed that we almost wish it was cheese, salad and chocolate rather than entree but oh well.

Here is the really cool thing about this Girls Night Out: a portion of the proceeds go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. What could be better than enjoying fondue with some friends and Saving the Tatas at the same time? As a woman who has had three female relatives who have had breast cancer, I am down with this promotion.

Anyway, I sent out an email last week to my work colleagues and managed to get a group of 9 ladies to come to the Melting Pot with me for some fun. I was so excited!

Who Were the Vendors?
If you've ever been to a Melting Pot Girls Night Out in Dayton you know that they have local vendors on hand, in some case a big sponsor. I believe in April the sponsor was Absolute Vodka (because I got a T-shirt). This time the big sponsor was Estee Lauder.

Estee Lauder
The big thing with Estee Lauder at this Girls Night Out was that they were giving away sample packages to the first 30 people in the door. It included getting custom matched to a foundation and receiving a sample of their Advanced Night Repair, which I think is relatively new. While it's billed as something to help the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, when I asked the Sales Associate present about it and she said she even has her 28 year old son using it as a preventative measure. Ok, sure, I'll give the sample a shot. I haven't tried it yet because my skin is freaking out with some sort of rash, but I'll let you know if I think it's worth the price (smallest size I think is $47.50).

Stella & Dot - 20% off July 2 through July 9th
This vendor dealt with jewelry and accessories. I was fawning over some of the pieces (and actually ended up winning one in a raffle that night). This company sells through associates, and Donna Snyder was the associate on hand this evening. You can order from Donna through her website. As I mentioned there is a sale currently, so you might want to have a look. These looked like some fun pieces.

Donna Snyder mentioned that if anyone is looking for parties, she is happy to arrange one with them. She would do a trunk show at your house, not get in the way, but have pieces available and on display much like what she did at The Melting Pot. If you are in the Dayton Area and would be interested, you can contact her:

Trendy Bindi's Boutique
Trendy Bindi seemed to be a local merchant operating out of a Etsy Shop. They mostly focus on vintage pieces. Not my thing, but cute none-the less.

T-Cakes Diaper Cakes
Again, not really my thing. No kids. But when I mentioned this to Tiffany Kelly she promptly pointed out that she also does Panty Bouquets (pictured  right) and washcloth Bouquets. Still not my thing but I have to admit the idea of a Panty Bouquet some silly fun! If this does happen to be "your thing" then you can reach her at tcakes4u at gmail dot com.

All in all we had a wonderful time at the Melting Pot Dayton. I love it that this restaurant does fun things like this. It's such a good thing to see them developing a mutually beneficial relationship between their establishment, local vendors, and of course the customers. I do recommend taking advantage of their special promotions - they are normally a much better price than you would get on your average day. Now if only I could figure out how to eat there without blowing my daily calorie budget...

By the way, The Melting Pot is also having a 4th of July Double Date Night where you get a four course meal for 4 people for $70. We're taking our nextdoor neighbors! Note I said "4 people" not necessarily "2 couples". So grab three of your best buds and take advantage of this, Dayton!
