Ling Skincare Diary - Week 4

Ok, so this ends Week 4 of my Ling Skincare Diary. Most of my products are near the end the tub. The exceptions being the facial cleanser - I use it all the time and the bottle still has a good amount left. Some of the masks have enough for 2 more facials so we'll see how that goes. I am starting to formulate my personal "game plan" on what I would purchase for myself as well.

Weekly Facial Thoughts
Once again tried something different with the Spotlight Papaya Resurface Peel. This time I sat in a hot shower with a hot washcloth over my face. No real difference, just another attempt to replicate what JoeyBunny experienced in the spa. I don't think it'll be possible to get the type of reaction she had at home (or at least my home). That's ok, though - this is still an excellent product (which I'll review on it's own).

In case you haven't seen it, Ling Skincare published their own "How To" video on the Weekly At-Home Facial. If I had seen this before starting my own adventures I wouldn't have been nearly as worried about the Spotlight Papaya Resurface peel as I have been. I also would have picked up a crappy washcloth and cut holes in the appropriate place (I still might butcher one of my own). That was always the part that bothered me - not being able to see (or breath normally) for about three minutes.

Weekly Regimen Changes
I have had it with these crazy cystic zits! They're all over my chin and even on my forehead (very strange). I can't help but think this is somewhat due to my softball catchers mask, and somewhat due to going off birth control pills. But whatever the reason, I have decided that I NEED to add my Tazorac back into my routine. I know that Ling Chan wanted me to wait - to get the full benefit from her products, but Tazorac is one of the best chemical exfoliates on the market. And I don't think using it negates using her products. It's just a matter of putting on at the right time. Tazorac has instructions to be applied 1 hour after emollient products. So what I think that means is that I have to put it on after doing the Ling Skincare system.

For the last two weeks twice a week I have been using the Instant Oxygen Recovery Mask as something to sleep in. I am quite sad - I think my sample has run out. And I like this product. It will most likely be something I will order from Ling so expect a review soon. I will tell you this:  If you have dull skin and want a boost get this product. Just do it.

How's My Skin
It's breaking out. Cystic acne is the bane of my existence. In the past when it has gotten out of control one of the things I have done is ditched my bottle of foundation for a new one. I'm going to make that change this week and see if it helps. I suspect it will a little. That MAC Studio Fix Fluid bottle has been around for quite some time. I know when you are supposed to ditch makeup, but who really does that? For me it's whenever my acne starts getting the better of me. But other than those areas where I have major breakouts, my skin looks luminous in the morning (not as much by the evening). I owe that to this system.

At the end of all of this I absolutely intend to get a facial. I need some extractions. There are just some clogged pores even a weekly facial can't dig out by itself.
