Jennifer's Body Mad Me Do It! Really...

Image from
Ok, so I know I don't have Megan Fox's gorgeous hair, her luminous eyes, her perfectly pink pout, her incredible lashes, her whiter-than-white teeth, not to mention her steamy made-for-bad-thoughts body, but none of that matters. I became OBSESSED with Megan Fox's makeup in Jennifer's Body. My husband and I watched it On Demand the other night and I remember thinking back to when I first saw it in the theater and thought "Oh god... I HAVE to get that lipgloss. It looks like a MAC Lip Gelee!" Well, I didn't get it. You can't get it anymore actually because it's been discontinued. I discovered all of this after I began googling Megan Fox and Jennifer's Body (don't do that unless you want bad things to happen) and stumbled upon Makeup411's in depth description of what was used on Ms. Fox. I should have thought to go here first. I have done so in the past with other make obsessions. It just has been a while.

MAC Cellopink... why did I never pick you up? Oh, that's right. Hated "pink" back then.

Anyway, since I own virtually none of the products used on Ms. Fox in Jennifer's Body, I made my own version:

Didn't get quite enough pigment in those lips did I? The Lorac Mocktail I used looked in the tube like it would do the job but sadly, left me wanting a bit more ooomph! And I was out the door fast so I didn't really have time to change it to something more "Megan". Here's the thing - I actually got compliments on this. I guess it was just a lot less messy than usual.

My "Jennifer" Breakdown

  • Urban Decay Primer Potion
  • Meow Cosmetics Eye Shadow in Pussyfoot - applied wet (inadvertently, brush wasn't dry) all over lid. It was probably not the right shade of pink, but it suited me just fine.
  • Meow Cosmetics Eye Shadow in Virgin - Crease to brow.
  • MAC Fluidline in Macroviolet - Lined upper eye, just a smidgen lower. Not enough I think.
  • MAC Plushlash Mascara in Plushblack
  • MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC15
  • MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light
  • MAC Gel Blush in Just a Pinch - dabbed on apples of cheeks and then smoothed with finger tips. I don't have the Tarte Cheek Stain used in the movie, so this was the closest thing I could think of.
  • MAC Lip Liner in Dervish
  • Lorac Mocktail in Sex on the Beach

Anyway, I think I'll try this look again, or another version anyway. It did help me rediscover Macroviolet Fluidline. That shade is love if you don't have it.

Here's the thing, the product used in the movie that has me the most curious is Benefit BADgal lash mascara. Have you tried it? I have not, though I'm sure I have a sample sitting around somewhere. If you have tried it, do you like it? I am one of those very rare people who seems to like MAC mascaras so I haven't ventured away too much.
