Warpaint and Armor - A Look and an Outfit

When I'm nervous about something that has to do with work, I get dressed up. I had one of those incidents this past week and I wanted to share my wardrobe and my makeup, or my warpaint and body-armor as it were.

We'll start with the WarPaint...

I was inspired by my dress, which you will see shortly.

Breakdown

  • Fyrinnae Pixy Epoxy
  • Meow Cosmetics in Supernatural - Supernatural used with Pixy Epoxy was a bit like "BAM! Your Lids are Golden!!!"
  • MAC Eye Shadow in Mulch - right in crease.
  • MAC Eye Shadow in Magic Dust - brow highlight.
  • MAC Eye Kohl in Teddy - Lined upper and lower lashes. I've said it before and I'll say it again - if you don't have MAC Teddy Eye Kohl, get it!!!
  • MAC Plushlash Mascara in Plusblack
Face
  • MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC15
  • MAC Minearalize Skinfinish Natural in Light
  • MAC Mineralize Blush in Love Thing
Lips
  • MAC Lipstick in O
  • MAC Lip Pencil in Mother Pearl

My Armor
Special thanks to Ideeli - as a woman losing weight they have been a life saver for getting fashionable styles cheaply lately! If you are not a member of Ideeli, you can become one through me.

Dress from Ideeli by Hale Bob, Boots by Pour La Victoire

See what I mean about being inspired by my dress for the makeup? I tried to play with the same colors.

Flexible cinching on the dress
What I liked the most about this dress was that there was flexible cinching on the side. You tie the gathers where you want them and raise and lower the hem of the skirt. The only downside to this, as you can see, if you have a bit of a belly you can accidentally emphasize it. If only the ties had been up just a little bit higher I wouldn't have had this problem. Or maybe I just need a longer torso.

Anyway, I got through the day relatively unscathed. I hope I at least looked good!
