China Glaze Summer 2011 collection: Island Escape.
Island Escape consists of six bright shades. The collection is composed of both shimmers and cremes. Their names and descriptions are as follows:
- Papaya Punch: Crème based vivid orange.
- 108 Degrees: Flirtatious berry pink with specks of micro glitter.
- Senorita Bonita: Passionate purple shimmer with pink micro glitter.
- Blue Iguana: Bold and daring sparkly blue.
- Cha Cha Cha: Vivacious shimmer green.
- Electric Pineapple: High intensity crème based lime green.
From the pictures I have to say Cha Cha Cha caught my eye first. I hope I'm not the only person who isn't tired of greens. I have a ton of them from last year, but I think many of the ones I hung onto weren't bright. This one looks like fun. Blue Iguana also looks like a blast.
I think this collection will be very well coordinated. Dar I say the words "Nail Art"? I sort of want to make a mani with these and strip all the colors all over the place. Not that I'm good at any of that. But what fun would that be?
At the same time, I do think this collection is a little expected. Just about everyone puts out brighter colors and these colors look like they will be surface of the sun bright! But I will applaud them for making every single color a distinct shade! (*cough* Zoya *cough*) Thank you for variety, China Glaze!
Still, the cold loving person in my mind thinks that in the summer the last place I want to be is a tropical island. I did that for my honeymoon in July a few years ago and the heat was SCORCHING! Give me shade and a Coco Loco right out of the coconut, please!
I am already missing sweaters...
