Cult Nails Iconic is perhaps one of my most anticipated nail polish colors so far this year. From the pictures I saw from R3Daily while she was getting ready to launch this polish I had expected a dusty maroon red with gold colored flakies. Princess Leia in the Gold Bikini!!! Well, what I got was not that, though it did look like it could have been in the bottle.
My indoor flash made this polish look a lot more brighter than it really is. The weather outside was really cloudy and crappy, so I didn't get a good pic in the sun. The best I have is chippy on the next day...
Here's the funny thing - the bottle pic on the webstore is EXACTLY what the bottle looks like in person - dusty maroon, purple, red with gold floating all over. That's not what I got when I put it on my nails.
Maroon/berry red thick jelly finish with gold flakies floating inside. Sadly, I didn't think the flakes showed up on the nail as much as they did in the bottle. I am unsure if this this color intends to be shiny or dull - it ends up somewhere in between. I wish it would pick a side.
Two coats over Qtica Nail Growth Stimulator topped with Seche Vite. A very smooth finish - no streaks or anything.
Like the last Cult Nails polish I reviewed, my nail failed on me before the polish did. I think most people will get excellent wear out of this color.
While I think there are somethings I would do to improve this polish in terms of the flakies, the wear and the uniqueness of the polish in my collection put it in the "This is a good buy" category if you're on the fence.
Cult Nails polishes can be purchased for $10 each from their webstore.
