Deborah Lippmann - Glitter in the Air (A Very Confusing Polish For Me)

I wasn't planning on purchasing this particular nail polish from Deborah Lippmann but the more pictures I saw of it the more I thought that I really wanted to buy it just to make my own mind up about the color. So I did...

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the inspiration Deborah Lippmann used for this polish. Pink's performance at the 2010 Grammy's was memorable - and I didn't even watch it live. I saw it later, and it stuck with me. So when I saw this polish, I knew EXACTLY what was going on in Ms. Lippmann's head. And I'll be honest, in the past few years I haven't really understood what she was going for (Funky Chunky for example).

Different sizes of pink and blue glitter suspended in a sheer milky blue base. It sort of resembles melting bubble gum ice cream, with a little dash of superman ice cream thrown in for fun. I had a much more disgusting description for it back when I really was sure I hated this polish, but... well use your imagination. This color CAN stand on it's own, or you could use it for layering.

What you see above is 4 coats of Glitter in the Air over Qtica Nail Growth Stimulator and topped with Seche Vite. I recommend waiting a little between the 3rd or 4th coats.

Decent wear on this regardless of 4 freaking coats of polish! I started getting minor chips the second day, and then my nail started to fail before the polish. So that's all good.

Bottom Line
Good polish, but I'm not sure it's for me. Layering people you probably want it.

On the other hand, I kept it on my hands for about 5 days trying to figure out if I liked it. That counts for something: :)

I purchased this polish through Zappos, though you can also get it from Deborah Lippmann.

Just in case you didn't see Pink's performance:
