To the Beautiful Royal Couple: Dude... I'm wearing a funny little hat!

We at Pretty in Dayton Blog would like to congratulate Prince William and Princess (Kate!!!) Catherine on their wedding. Although we realize that the United States was partially founded on the concept of rejecting their monarchy's sovereignty, we are very happy to see them properly hitched.

After all, it gives us an occasion to wear this in public:

  1. Love it! I love fascinators so much. Hair accessories are tricky with curly hair so I haven't bought one, though I would like an excuse to. :)

    That said, I am a bit awed by the gravity-defying way British women wear them. It seems a proper fascinator appears to be careening off one's face.

  3. Amber - I think I'm going to try to figure out that gravity issue. I have a cousin who makes period piece hats so she and I are now discussing fascinators and I think she's going to teach me a bit. :)

  5. I can't wait to see what you wear for the Kentucky Derby on May 7! The Kentucky Derby style consists of big wide-brimmed hats, but who's to say we can't keep the fascinator love rolling?

    Justine - I doubt I'll have anything for May 7th, but maybe next year. I didn't realize people wore those the Derby until, well, yesterday. LOL
